yes, oracled dispensers are implemented and can work perfectly fine AFAIK if someone just starts up an oracle... I was the one running the oracles and it wasn't getting enough usage to cover the operational costs... but unless Adam and team removed Oracled Dispensers, they should work... not sure tehy are even aware of oracled dispensers... quite a bit they were unaware of (like they were unaware you could send multiple memos in multi-sends) -
-
this is where I was running the oracles from.... basically you just gotta start broadcasting the price and BTC-USD and a fee every day and then when setting up a dispenser, give the oracle adddress as the oracle.... this is supported in freewallet. -

Hi GMONEY,
Thanks for pointing out how huge the STRATEGY short position has become:
https://x.com/GMONEYPEPE/status/2026453715138523634?s=20
It seems ripe for a DFV/GameStop style short squeeze.
Maybe put out the word for everyone to hold their Strategy shares in a way that prevents it being lent out to short-sellers or rehypothecated.
It appears that ways to do this might include:
1. Switch your account from a margin account to a cash account
Margin agreements give the broker consent to lend out your securities as collateral for the "convenience" of having a credit line.
2. Opt-Out of "Fully Paid Lending" Programs
Many modern "zero-commission" brokers (like Robinhood, Webull, or Fidelity) have specific programs where they ask to lend out shares you own outright in exchange for a cut of the interest.
Go to your account settings or "Securities Lending" section and toggle this Off.
4. Use a DRS (Direct Registration System)
For those who want to be 100% certain, you can move your shares out of the brokerage entirely and into your own name via a Transfer Agent (like Computershare). This removes the shares from the "street name" system, making it impossible for a broker to lend them because they no longer hold them.GMONEY 🐸 ₿itcoin is Digital 1776 (@GMONEYPEPE) on XBitcoin & @Saylor are an existential threat to Globalism. Planning to release a pair of 12-year-old historical Counterparty assets (You read that right, Jan 2014!) that have almost never moved before.
These assets only have 2 holders so far, jimhsu (creator of TEST) and myself.
I rediscovered these assets recently and just realized how old and unique they are.
Some will be sold on dispensers, some will be offered as bonuses, and some will be given away :)
More info will be available here: https://t.me/niftyspecials -

Fair mints... such a high demand feature according to Adam... I thought the community was screaming for this functionality and it was supposed to bring lots of users and liquidity -
-
-
the whole, pay a BTC fee to mint something and then if the mint fails to hit soft_cap then nothing is issued and you get nothing is really dumb IMO... if someone pays a BTC fee for a tx to mint something, they should at the very least get a token in their balances.... having ppl waste BTC tx fees racing to mint something and then getting nothing in return for it is really poor planning IMO.... but what do I know... some ppl like Dan seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable behavior... for ppl to waste BTC on txs and get absolutely nothing in return -
funny thing is, I wasn't even aware the functionality was written this way until Dan did a few fair mints with his website... only then did I discover how the system was actually written.... and I don't recall any type of conversation with the community on what functionality was desired within fair-mints, etc... -
After seeing what happened in the Palisades, I'd be careful buying real estate as well...... -
Dan now has to fight off the ladies 😅 -
Imagine owning a shitcoin where 1 user can tax or confiscate your asset for any reason they want -
Are we talking about XCP or a house in LA? 😅
Neither are looking great right now.......but XCP has an interesting risk/reward profile (huge upside in the event that the protocol becomes popular). -
What would make the protocol popular again? new protocol features? A dev who is focused on building a VM into the platform?... seriously wondering how you envision CP gaining popularity again... the only avenue I can see is another NFT craze, where ppl want to get at RAREPEPE and other early NFT projects, so they will have to come to CP to move things around, buy from dispensers, etc.... but short of that, I don't see a path to popularity and widespread adoption for CP.... I don't see a bunch of new tooling and stuff to make CP easier to use and onboard normies (side-note: I still own >1% of the supply of XCP.. so I'm still holding out hope... curious for your feedback on path forward) -
Caitlin has been in on it since the beginning -
It's gonna come from the top down one way or another... How is xchain coming along -
-
XChain coming along very nicely.... lets let claude tell you about it after reviewing the code 🙂 -
-
-
that is claude's analysis of the indexer... which is the logic guts of the system... -
-
there is a security review I just ran on the indexer -
-
there is claude's understanding of the overall platform and the operational components -
Here is claude's analysis of the overall platform's readyness for launch -
-
still got the SDK and wallet and some cross-blockchain functionality to write into xchain-hub.... but all the other componets are fully operational, talking with one another, and fully working and managed via xchain-node -
-
There is the easy to use xchain-node that allows you to install and manage only the xchain components you want to install... so you can spin up an xchain node and only add support for the chains you want 🙂 -
and of course... the open source xchain-explorer component which will run at xchain.io (similar to tokenscan) and which serves as the APIs for the platform to pull data from the platform -
-
How much space will it take for just bitcoin -
</end xchain rant> .... so yeah, i'd say things are going well... now that Javier and I have done all the heavy lifting ourselves over the past year and a half coding it all up... we are using claude to find any issues, and to aid in writing some of the remaining components like the SDK and wallet -
the largest footprint is bitcoin with the actual blockchain data... the xchain-utxo-tracker only tracks the ACTIVE set of utxos, not the full history, so its footprint is pretty small... and the xchain-decoder stores the decoded xchain transactions into a mariaDB database... and the xchain-indexer database is pretty small as well, as I have indexed the hell out of things so that each piece of data is only stored ONCE in the database, versus counterparty where they store the same data again and again (they store address for a tx in like 5 different places rather than 1) -
still working on getting the bootstraps together and will have to get back to you with the disk estimates.... but we are talking a small footprint of a few gigs over the bitcoin blockchain..... the xchain-utxo-tracker was huge when we first wrote it, but we only track the active set of utxos, so it reduced the disk footprint by like 98% 🙂 -
eventually perhaps Counterparty will use xchain-utxo-tracker... as it does exactly what electrum does, but doesn't rely on a 3rd party service, and can easily be included inside the CP stack.... tho, I highly doubt that Adam's pride would ever let him admit he was wrong by removing UTXO management from the stack and want to change his path forward from relying on a 3rd party service -
blah blah blah... 🙂 -
-
wow wtf -
one of things i really like with the new xcp github is the open source nature of updating the website
this month i dug into all the features of all the wallets we use - gonna use that to update the website
next month is markets/block explorers etc - then update website
after that i am going to propose a "collections" tab to showcase all the historic projects - and propose to add my timeline too
furthermore I will continue hosting monthly twitter spaces for infrastructure providers / devs / anyone who wants to join and talk counterparty -
Speaking of, Counterparty spaces scheduled for this Sunday at 1pm pacific:

Gang, @countertrader_io_bot keeps getting better every week.
Another killer feature is about to drop next week.
Only 1 of the first 9 COUNTERTRADR premium membership tokens is left on the original 0.00022 BTC early bird dispenser.
Anyone who sends 0.00022 BTC in the next 24 hours, I'll manually send you a COUNTERTRADR if you missed that final one.
Then the next 9 after that will be listed at 0.00033 BTC.
