Again feigning ignorance…. You’re still not able to send bear BTC payments to dispensers…. You now have to send a counterparty dispense transaction which means that you now can only use counterparty from counterparty wallet and lost a great on boarding mechanism for users to learn about and use counterparty..
You also lost the ability to create fund and manage dispensers from a single address in a single transaction…. What you used to be able to do in a single transaction now requires two transactions…. And until recently it required three transactions…. One transaction to send assets to a dispenser, a second transaction to send BTC to a dispenser address and a third transaction to actually create the dispenser.
You can say “ you can still do this now”…. And that is partially true you can indeed send assets and BTC in one transaction and create a dispenser in the second transaction…. However, it is still more transactions than we had to win the past, we lost the ability to onboard users via BTC payments, and the community remains deeply fractured, and usage continues to decline….
We can agree to disagree, Dan…. But pretending that there are no issues and everyone is just confused is getting a bit old….. if there were no issues and everything was right as rain, we would see adoption growing, and users would be using the platform as they were before the fork and Adam’s takeover of the code base…… and let’s not even talk about the developer of counterparty writing a competing Meta protocol project and how much of a conflict of interest that truly is…..
We’ve gone in circles about this for a couple years now, bro… adoption has still not returned, and continuing to stick your head in the sand and say everything is fine is a nonsense tactic.
At this point counterparty is, in my opinion, permanently damaged, both in functionality, credibility and reputation, and I do not see any path back to getting users to use and trust the platform as they have in the past.
I am glad to see you continuing to build and experiment on Blockchains…. And I hope you continue to do so…. I hope no ill will for you, but it is extremely frustrating to see certain community members continue to pretend that all is well and that there are no problems even years after declines are obvious to all around. -

By the way, look at usage history it dropped off immediately after I handed control over to Adam 2+ years ago…. Well before any of this bear market nonsense that you’re trying to say is relevant to us usage patterns today….. when I handed control of the platform back to Adam XCP was at $10 per coin and usage was strong…. Two years later we’re at about a buck 50 per coin and usage is a fucking ghost town…..
And if you wanna go back and look at historical usage through the last bar markets, it was significantly higher than it is in the last two years on counter party…. Look at usage through the bear markets in 2016 and 2018 still way more usage than now.🤷🏻♂️ -

Imaginary people… interesting defense…. Look at dispenser usage before dispensers were changed and functionality was lost and look at the numbers now the difference is those “ imaginary people”.
No one wants to download a counterparty Wallet simply to use counterparty and get a token…. People were perfectly fine sending BTC from other non-counterparty wallets to get a token removing that functionality permanently damage damaged counterparty…. 🤷🏻♂️ -

You don’t really have to waste your time Dan you can believe what you want to and any analysis that you do would be tempered with your opinion…. The only analysis anyone needs to do is look at the total usage numbers from the beginning of 2014 until now and correlate that usage with the bull and bear markets and correlate the drop off in usage and daily transactions on counterparty with the return of Adam and his team.
But honestly, I think it’s wasted energy for you and that your skills would be better applied building things that you believe in and not crunching numbers for some silly argument over a difference of opinion. -

To me, it just looks like market trend. This is actually a decent look back window because BLACKBOX was April 2022, Adam/v10 was April 2024. Each period is about two years. The peak lines up with the global NFT peak, and the decline matches every other NFT platform. Many of which are shuttering now. (I excluded STAMPS from this.)

John and I were working on Counterparty for multiple years well before we decided to do the "BLACKBOX" fund-raising... anyway, like I said, it is a waste of time to crunch numbers cuz your going to interpret them however you feel best suits your narrative.... At the end of the day, usage is lower than it has been and you only need to look at the overall network stats to very easily see that.... btw, I handed over control of the repo to Adam in Jan 2024.... perfectly lines up with the drop off on the chart and then the flatline stats... one big spike from the first day of fairmints is all that happened activity wise since the handoff

Do the same cut and paste for mp4 from NOSTR to GitHub Json repository.
After this, click "commit" in GitHub repository project.

Note to self.
If you auto complete the names of your assets your phone might be Fukin retarded and add a space to the end of the name when labeling the Json file in repository. It can't be there.
Note to note to self. The little cat looking button in the bottom right of GitHub is an AI of sorts and you can ask if what's wrong of something isn't working, it told me about the extra space in the Json file name. -

I want to make a factual correction... all of this will work today. But its important to know how this stuff works.
Ar.io could at some point have a similar issue and you need to know how to reach the other domains.
The Forge does it a little easier but it's JUST Wayfinder Protocol. Arweave has like 600 domains because they are constantly getting attacked (China).
So id reccomend keeping a small list of them somewhere incase you ever need it. -

Gotta love getting these random error messages when just trying to do a simple send of some BTC from one wallet to another.... error messages thrown directly from counterparty without any clear path on how to resolve, what the issue is, etc.... This is why I was against many of the changes made to Counterparty... introducing this type of nonsense into the stack versus just keeping addrindexrs where we never had this problem... ugh

so now rather than actually being able to USE counterparty... i'm having to spin open an entirely different wallet and try to do a BTC send that way, since the counterparty method is now broken... gotta love it.. all these "fix bugs" and "streamline things" improvements.... and the end result is nonsense like this... CP more broken and unusable than it was years ago... *sigh*

I wasn't really looking to collect $$$... but appreciate the support duncan.... Even tho I may disagree with the changes and overall direction of CP the past few years... I still love the community, and put them first, and keeping things running smoothly with tools and wallets that people have grown to rely on, is still a priority for me 🙂
