J-Dog (@jdogresorg) on XAdding Counterparty tokens to Liquidity Pools, being able to earn fees from the liquiditiy pools, and having it be very clear how much liquidity is immediately available in a pool is HUGE! I was fortunate enough to see a demo of this last week and was blown away with how smooth
-
exactly... huge news! being able to setup Liquidity pools, earn fees for providing liquidity to a market, being able to instantly see what is available in the pool to cash out.... brings lots of cool DeFi functionality to Counterparty tokens... and all without launching an entirely new metaprotocol platform 🙂 -
Aaaaah awesome!!

TokenWorks™ (@token_works) on XTomorrow we're launching the first ERC1155 Strategy: $NAKASTR ERC721, ERC1155, and ERC20-based Strategies will be deployable when the full platform launches.

Over 28,000 views....... -
Unless you want it to…? -
We’ve partnered with token strategy to enable counterparty strategies via our vaults. Can play counterparty maxi, or not. But I’m not going to stop supporting this ecosystem ever. -
XCP Strategy go go go -
Can you tell us exactly what it is? -
My basic understanding of token strategy:
An erc20 token is launched
Fees from token trading go into some contract
When fees reach the nft floor target, the nft is bought off the floor
The nft is immediately relisted at 10% above purchase price
The loop continues -
There are more mechanics, but it’s a fully onchain automatic floor raising system to add momentum back into NFT’s and it’s had some significant wins of late -
Sorry. Couldn't find that bit explicitly in the copy, and didn't wanna assume
Fascinating developing. So all current vaults are compatible? -
Ultimate Guide to NFT Strategy Tokens: PunkStrategy and Top Alternatives for 2025Unlock the flywheel: How PunkStrategy turns CryptoPunks into a self-sustaining DeFi powerhouse for passive NFT gains
-
They are now. But how new strategies are going to be deployed I’m not sure. Currently reach out to Jake or Adam, but I expect if this works well there will be a more standard way to propose a strategy for collections, or individual assets, maybe even artist collections. -
I like the idea a lot, and its also good for significant assets like Rarepepe! -
Congratulations 🎉 -
I’m mostly excited because it’ll add buy pressure back to art assets. Which I think we all want to be there when we need/want it -
At the end of the day, even if you don’t like emblem vault, the existence of multiple markets introduces arbitrage opportunity. So xcp exclusive infrastructure will benefit from people buying on one side to close the gap on the other. - 07 November 2025 (4 messages)

i think Adam should give up Lead Dev github permissions to the xcp github due to conflicting interests -
-
-
I think Dan Anderson would be my first choice -
-
-
-
-
-
-
mmm, but who else is building on xcp and has the history other than Dan
Dan working with them vs being the lead creator of Kontor are different things imo -
he helped with their explorer if i am correct -
-
shit if they offered me a position id prob take it to - money is tight -
-
-
Looks like dogshit not sure where you’re seeing that -
as would i -
again, afaik it is a cash situation
but who knows with him. I think he likes being a mark -
-
-
-
-
-
not interested -
-
He might find investors though. But the think is however beautiful is the tech content is king -
-
again. he is already legally bound to do anything that maximizes investor profit. That does not include getting his head in the game and treating each user with enough respect to hear them out and or follow the will of the majority of user or anyone other than those who he is legally obligated to make a profit for. Too bad he does not care to put in the hard work of creating some balance. -
I was talking about Adam. Hes a shitcoin degen trying to scam bitcoiners -
-
This seems like a reasonable topic of discussion, but there are other issues that should be included at the same time, such as:
*Are there any candidates to take up the position?
*Would it be possible/beneficial to reduce centralization of decision making and prevent a single dev from having control over the project? -
-
-
Does this channel view Kontor as synergistic with Counterparty, or as a competitor to Counterparty?
If Kontor is a competitor to Counterparty, it seems problematic for both projects to have the same lead dev. -
-
-
There is no synergy with Kontor -
-
-
Kinda like Anthropic and OpenAI both having Altman as CEO? -
I don't know much about Kontor yet, but it sounds more like a competitor than anything else.
Apparently Counterparty assets can be moved over to Kontor using atomic swaps, but what would be the reason for doing so?
If assets migrate from Counterparty to Kontor, that reduces the value of assets held on Counterparty....... -
from what i have read and what i have been presented - sounded like xcp assets can go to Kontor but cannot "come back" -
Ya and in the deck there is no way back from Kontor to XCP -
Vampire drain attack -
100% conflict of interest -
Where did you see that -
One way travel??? -
-
-
^ this.... but maybe it is bi-directional - just reiterating from this discussion before -
^ -
Founder of XCP found way to fund development, panic ensues. -
ofc they left the evidence it was always the plan... What day did they take over cp -
Wait.....counterparty assets can move to Kontor but can't come back.......
That sounds unreasonable.
Is it possible you are reading too much into the slides?
Perhaps someone might want to confirm this with Adam....... -
Lets not forget Kontor was pre planned -
Funding is a great thing, but is the funding for Kontor, Counterparty, or both? -
Innovator of the innovation you like keeps innovating. *shocking* -
How would you go about confirming anything with him? -
weird they get money and they decimate the entire ecosystem sounds like sabotage -
I predicate this on seeing the statement that asset movements are one-way.
If it's 2-way then it's just a 50% conflict of interest 😉 -
Dan I imagine you might be able to clear this up:
1. Can counterparty assets that have been moved to Kontor be returned to Counterparty?
2. Can Kontor assets be moved to Counterparty? -
-
-
-
-
Listen up yall -
They’re different protocols. Unspendable is developing both. It’s like not a big deal. -
Only in this insane clown world you guys have invented does it matter. -
-
Looks like assets can go both ways - 15 November 2025 (203 messages)
-
Yes, I made the explorer as a project. -
Because I like am good at that, do you get paid for what you’re good at? What is it that you’re good at? -
I'm not knocking you dude I appreciate your work and trust you the most out of that entire clan just trying to get the full picture -
Cancer town here. White blood cells attacking good stuff. -
What’s the better alternative you have in mind. Like what’s better than founder improves and builds on counterparty. It doesn’t have the strength on its own to garner investment. Thats like proven true again and again. -
Whats the point of starting another protocol that directly competes with XCP -
-
I believe they tried some of the ideas here first and it was the opinion of five people that they are ghey and an op and take your ideas and fuck off. -
-
weird most of us were booted from their groups so we never even heard about those ideas -
-
Ok, enjoy your whatever it is you’re holding on to. -
-
if you were in the community's position, knowing we had issues with the way Adam rolled out a few updates and treated some long time members here....
would you at least understand why Samadhi Speaks (long time community member), ZeroG, and others like myself would see it as a conflict of interest?
you can at least understand where the fear comes from?
you dont have to agree with it, but is it not reasonable to be even slightly alarmed? and if so, why call us insane clown world if its a reasonable response? -
-
-
I slowed down my xcp work when I saw that the “consensus” view is that if you try to make money with counterparty you are a fucking piece of shit who doesn’t respect the commmmmmunity. -
-
I thought we had renaissance potential but the mindset isn’t there -
-
"Consensus" or "5 guys"
Choose your weapon -
I’ve abandoned idealism -
-
Wait, the counterparty party is over? -
-
No we are so back -
Aren’t you all reporting it dead -
-
-
okay, well embracing pessimism isnt helping, at least be reasonable and detail oriented (and i recommend ignoring some of these trolls) -
-
-
-
-
i simply would love for you to expand this thought process with detailed examples of where and when and why you disagree -
-
-
Listening to the current Counterparty lead dev speaking publicly, it sounds like he is focused on Kontor, not Counterparty.
But just because Adam (may have) moved on, that doesn't have to mean it's over for counterparty. -
-
-
What’s the big thing to be done. They majorly overhauled the codebase, made a wallet, marketplace, explorer. Like do you want them to market buy all the coins and memes too? Maybe they are just being scapegoated for the market picking inscriptions and runes. I’m still an xchain user honestly but like no one’s buying that 2010 look in 2025 -
They renewed the expiration date bigly. -
xcp over lightning -
-
no we just want a leader we trust -
Most of you don’t understand how close to not working counterparty was before they did lots of improvements. But you want to nitpick. -
IYKYK -
-
You get nothing meme here -
I think Adam is doing the the correct thing. None of the memes mean anything without counterparty being adopted for real things -
-
Compare the metrics of before and after.
CP was starting to scortch.
Then took a mint nose to dive -
Adam had a beautiful stage and apparently a large audience at Bitcoin Amsterdam -
I think that’s misreading the context. Stamps and SRC cooked and jdog shut them down. Not Adam and co. -
Being lead maintainer of counterparty is like being a beekeeper except the bees are hornets and there’s no honey. -
Wonder how much they paid for stage time -
Counterparty was and still is extremely fragile.
I'm simply asking you to be empathetic to reasonable conflicts of interest
If you don't agree fine. Not like any of the people here actually have any real power anyway -
It just sucked that Adam fought with Jdog and made a new chat and all that. I had fun making fun of them but got banned for life. -
-
And Joey Loonnny preemptively banned me from the RAREPEPE chat for life. What an asshole -
not false, entirely not false lol -
There is plenty of honey Adam & Co bought a yuuuge bag of XCP before he took it over, if only he got people incentivzed to use the token -
-
It would have been cool if he spoke about the future of Counterparty and XCP at Bitcoin Amsterdam. -
You'd thnk that would have been his main motivation but alas he wanted to shill his new shitcoin -
I'd say most people do understand that much at least. It's been acknowledged by different people here. I for one appreciate all the work that was done to make the codebase cleaner and the protocol more robust.
But many of us holding valid concerns about fee increasing and existing user base use case breaking changes to MPMA sends and dispensers were ignored, new features were introduced to cater to who knows who, but not the existing community.
Many longtime community members were indeed kicked for raising concerns about these and other issues. Even reporting bugs got J-Dog flagged for abuse!
It's one thing to stabilise a codebase, it's another to break certain long standing feature behaviours extensively relied upon by the existing community and take new feature development in a direction driven by external financial agendas rather than existing community requests and concerns, while kicking out anyone who asked uncomfortable questions.
The essence of the problem is corporate capture of a community protocol, now dictated by the private undisclosed motivations of investors, with little to no regard for multiple years of community use cases, usage patterns, cultural artifact curation standards... there's more to unpack... but...
TLDR Counterparty community protocol is no longer in the hands of the community, its direction is no longer aligned with a large proportion of the community, many have left or fallen silent, and there's no sign of that changing anytime soon. -
Its sad that he is abusing his position atop cp to shill this nonsense even saying its basically the same features as cp in the first 5 seconds. Adam is a clown and needs to be removed asap

"external financial agendas" whatever like come on people you have all found a million ways to say we're upset that anyone would try to make money and then also that you're expectation is that Adam would double down on that "community" -
-
The founder of Counterparty dudes not a corporat etake over, homie invented it -
like what -
Counterparty is charity work, that's what I'm hearing is the community demand and it would seem that's aligned with how Adam has approached it. -
So everyone is aligned and its all understood. -
-
159 followers looks like its going well lol -
Horizon Labs has VC investors. Adam has a fiduciary responsibility to work diligently to achieve a return on their investment. So he is answerable to them. We do not know who they are and we do not know their intentions for Counterparty. -
-
I think it's like Adam, his family, and friends. And like Bitcoin Frontier Fund, which I believe is mostly TO. -
But why do you fucking care -
The nefarious behavior of incorporating -
-
oh boy -
Dan I have like a dozen companies. I know how it works. No need to take the piss when I'm pointing out facts. Once you take external funding, you're answerable to that funding. -
My point stands. There is no longer any community say in the governance or direction of counterparty. -
this clown is one of them https://x.com/JakeBlockchainJacob Brown (@JakeBlockchain) on XHost of Built on Bitcoin & BitcoinYield podcasts (@builtonbtcpod / @bitcoin_yield) Working daily to unlock Bitcoin Capital Markets at @bitflow

I was asked for my input very early on. I explained the community behaviours around the usages of dispensers, including the use case of Rare Socks with dozens of dispensers on the same address for layering of dispenses of a wide range of large quantities of very common through to the rarest unitary Rare Socks. That feedback was acknowledged, then ignored, with a breaking change to dispensers that destroyed that entire innovative distribution model for any future collections. -
Just one example that comes to mind -
You were grinded into the ground, into a fine dust. -
It did have a direct financial impact on me.
Of course, one that was dwarfed by having my account and all my groups nuked from orbit by Telegram, so it's all relative. -
-
-
-
-
meanwhile, I am working on building more a useful counterparty assets trading data explorer for everyone, including data enrichment such as relative USD P&L on DEX asset swaps. -
yet the interest remains -
-
fact of the matter is that Adam isnt even trying. his mask has slipped fully. looking at cuntorparty it seem his very own premine will ultimately destine him and his associates to failure.
Coopertition is will never be in Adam's vocabulary.
Dan denies the word's existence. -
-
-
-
-
-
-
ofc they left the evidence it was always the plan... What day did they take over cp -
-
-
-
y'all know how crypto works. the right team can just use another github account. i think there is getting to be enough momentum and valid concerns, to justify doing the work in order to secure the longevity of the project by solidifying our common ground and intentions. -
-
-
here's a verbal response from Adam to Vasilis addressing the counterparty assets migration question. -
Found him afterwards and asked a few questions. Said that counterparty assets will remain on the counterparty... There will be no migration/bridge of tokens/assets -
perhaps you might want to ask him directly on his space.... would be great if someone got some answers... making money is fine, but misleading one community and forcing changes in what is supposed to be a "community driven" project to benefit a brand new protocol is no bueno.... I am of the opinion that smart contracts could have and should have been bolted on to counterparty instead of launching a brand new metaprotocol.... https://x.com/kontornetwork/status/1989498188882145301?s=20Kontor on Bitcoin (@kontornetwork) on XJoin us on Monday, November 17th at 10:00 AM (EST) for a developer discussion on KONTOR. https://t.co/bT41omMTn3
-
Looking at the earlier slides, there was the idea that PBST atomic swaps would enable interoperability with Bitcoin and Counterparty: -
-
I assume that the interoperability would enable assets to migrate between CP and Kontor.
And as Counterparty has at times supposedly had as much as $1 billion in assets riding on it, it seems Kontor would benefit from assets migrating over from Counterparty. -
I don't understand Kontor that well, but it seems like there would be an incentive for Kontor to encourage migration of assets and trading activity from Counterparty to Kontor. -
-
-
I'm not panicking, and I'm not accusing them of anything. Its just now prudent to have other owners of the repo -
Working on some problem analysis...
36.8% of all DEX sales are asset-to-asset swaps with no identifiable USD tax valuation.
That's not a theoretical problem - it's 25,492 real transactions from:
HAIRPEPE swaps

Dumb POV - He's got a team of really good developers. You want to give it to who, someone without a really good team of developers? -
And he invented counterparty, still dont get how discounted that is -
-
-
-
I don't think we need Adam off the repo. I would like to see some community engagement and genuine community governance instead of having community concerns swept under the rug.
The discounting of Adam as Counterparty founder was not present when he first returned. There was a strong positive expectancy for great things ahead at the time.
Discounting of any significance attached to being protocol creator, has only grown as a consequence of, and in proportion with, the suppression of feedback and requests from the community to be heard on protocol design decisions, historically relied upon features behaviour breaking changes, and a lack of acknowledgement or engagement with real concerns raised.
Coming back after ten years, making commitments to community engagement, then actively working against community consensus and preferences, other than a minority happy to go in the new direction? Yeah, that's going to dilute goodwill substantially.
I am here to be constructive and advocate what's best for counterparty not just as a protocol but as a community with a rich and varied 10+ year history.
I hope we can have ongoing discussions in furtherance of the best possible future for Counterparty! -
Exactly, I'm not asking for Adam and co to be kicked off or anything. -
-
I like some of the Gaga's songs, what the fuck do she know about cameras? -
perhaps more useful if I acknowledged that on a technical and available resources for maintenance basis, Adam is the best person to be leading.
It's all the other issues that have impacted community engagement, collection distribution and bulk trading mechanics, and overall community participation in the direction of the protocol, that I would like to see a different governance structure around. -
At this point, I don't think there's much development needed, it's mostly keeping the codebase updated. He said basically all the big features are done, and the community isn't asking for anything new now. -
-
Why isn't the community asking for anything new? -
Could it be because multiple features various people said were important to the community got broken or deprecated?
Could it be because other concerns regarding communications and procedural matters such as bug reporting that were raised resulted in censorship and bans?
Could it be that people cannot see any point in asking for new features, if initial good faith representations were initially acknowledged, then later actively contravened?
Am I on track here or off track?
Are my characterisations accurate, or have I missed the mark on one or more points here? -
I'm mainly a collector, but I mint something every now and then. I haven't run into anything I want to do that the protocol is holding me back from. -
so it must belong to him! -

I've got no problem with Dan being paid by Unspendable Labs to build a block explorer, and anything else for them.
I do have a problem when my attempts at constructive dialogue get batted away with dismissive non sequiturs.
I understand financial relationships and conflicts of interest exist - I'm not naive about that.
What bothers me is when my actual points get sidestepped rather than genuinely addressed.
How does that help resolve anything? -
Well ya Dan is just gaslighting and being a shill. Id hope he actually be more respectful with us but whatever -
-
Sorry I hurt feelings and didn't act right. -
I will act right from now on. -
I just hope we can all focus on what's best for counterparty, all through widely divergent opinions on what that is, we can constructively seek the common ground
added: I appreciate you saying that -
I'm keeping my discussions here and not in the new Counterparty group, as
1. I have been in this group since 2016, and feel that this is where the heart and soul of the community dwells.
2. I am genuinely afraid to participate in airing my thoughts in the new Counterparty group, for fear of being punted out like many here before me. -
I still remember first joining the counterparty slack chat and being gobsmacked to discover there could not be any assets starting with A, and asking why couldn't that be fixed :) -
Adam missed a golden opportunity there for the first asset issuance after XCP to be ADAM, registered by him, the "first man" on Counterparty. Would have been the perfect Genesis story 😉 -
In part, that odd design choice resulted in how we do subassets and stamps. -
Yes, that's true. I just wondered why the two couldn't co-exist. There was some technical explanation reason at the time, that because i was new, I didn't understand. -
It's because of the algorithm for converting asset names into IDs. ["BITCORN" => 412694399]
A has an index of 0 in the code and the algo relies on multiply or dividing and getting a remainder each time where that remainder is an index in an array of letters.
Because of that APPLE and PPLE would have the same ID.
https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/blob/c580587d255c1b63702600cf00aab00337cdf985/counterparty-core/counterpartycore/lib/ledger/issuances.py#L49-L62 -
It makes sense if you look into it. A better solution would have been to make "." the first or 0th index. Giving you subassets and assets that start with A. -
yes, I mostly get it now, thanks. yeah, basing numerics off a non alpha char would have allowed for A assets right? -
Just putting something that's never the first character in a string first would do it. -
I just asked Perplexity to explain it in more detail for me:
Understanding the Counterparty Asset Name Encoding Algorithm
The issue relates to how Counterparty converts human-readable asset names (like "BITCORN" or "APPLE") into unique numeric identifiers. The algorithm has a subtle but important flaw that can create collisions.
How the Algorithm Works
The encoding uses a base-26 conversion system where each letter maps to a number:
A = 0, B = 1, C = 2... Z = 25
For each character in the asset name, the algorithm multiplies the current result by 26 and adds the letter's index value. Here's how "BITCORN" becomes 412694399:
Start: 0
B (index 1): 0 × 26 + 1 = 1
I (index 8): 1 × 26 + 8 = 34
T (index 19): 34 × 26 + 19 = 903
C (index 2): 903 × 26 + 2 = 23480
O (index 14): 23480 × 26 + 14 = 610494
R (index 17): 610494 × 26 + 17 = 15872461
N (index 13): 15872461 × 26 + 13 = 412694399
This is essentially treating the asset name as a base-26 number and converting it to decimal.
The Critical Flaw: Leading Letters Are Ignored
Here's where the problem emerges. Because the algorithm starts with 0 and begins multiplying immediately, leading 'A' characters (which represent 0) have no effect on the final ID. This is because multiplying by 26 and adding 0 doesn't change anything mathematically:
APPLE: A(0) × 26 + P(15) × 26 + P(15) × 26 + L(11) × 26 + E(4) = 274,070
PPLE: P(15) × 26 + P(15) × 26 + L(11) × 26 + E(4) = 274,070
Both produce identical IDs despite being different asset names. The leading 'A' in APPLE essentially disappears during calculation, leaving PPLE's encoding exactly the same.
Practical Implications
This creates a hash collision vulnerability in Counterparty's asset naming system. An asset named "APPLE" and an asset named "PPLE" would have the same numeric ID, which should be unique. Multiple leading A's would cause even broader collisions—"AAPPLE," "AAAPPLE," and "APPLE" would all map to the same identifier.
The issue stems from a fundamental design flaw: the algorithm doesn't account for leading zeros in base-26 representation. In proper number systems, leading zeros are typically stripped or handled separately, but this implementation wasn't designed with that consideration, creating a class of names that produce collisions. -
"Once the Counterparty protocol and asset name-to-ID encoding system went live, it became effectively impossible to change or retrofit the algorithm without breaking backward compatibility or invalidating existing assets." -
mistakes were made in a protocol we controlled -

As I understood that was always the plan since the beginning he told me about another protocol he is building around atomic swaps and working to make counterparty ready to it.
Adam is a great dev but he is not very good when it comes to people and community in general. Handling community is not easy theare always strongly opiniated people people spending time to compain etc. But I think he fails to perceive talents and love for the community. Talking the same language with non technical people. But those people are people who makes are to blood of the project whatwever beautiful or dirty the code is.
Two years ago my goal was to get more involved in the protocol commit my team ressource in community management and community. He agreed at the begining but I quickly understood he want's to play solo and not very compromise or community oriented. I pushed for a multipart community governance, that seemed to convince nobody. So it didn't happen leaving him sole captain of the ship. My intuition was he is eventually going to part away when opposition arise.
I beleive either for xcp or kontor to suceed it will require strong community oriented skills -
strongly opiniated people people spending time to compain
i agree with most of what you said, except this mischaracterization of intent. Users voice their opinions. Some actually have insight to offer. Structured governance is the opportunity to catalog and fully explore topics in an organized fashion so that general sentiment can actually be determined. Ideas evolve over time and the way to do it is by challenging them, therefore a very distasteful proposal could manifest as another cornerstone feature of the protocol.
case in point, with no structure, and no intention of creating a structure, then the important work remains for those interested parties. It is not the code nor the developer that secure the longevity of the protocol, but the social contract. We tried to explain things to him, but he - well banned concerned users, instead of learning. And here we are, those who understand the intricate social contract which was established in his absence, looking for a way to pool our resources to secure just that, the agreement we all have.
While there are things we disagree on, we should be able to openly discuss them in a civilized manner, until they are refined, while standing on the firm common ground we protect. - 16 November 2025 (4 messages)

How can you all react this way when you don't even know how kontor will work? -
many of us are 8 to 10 year counterparty community members ....
Perhaps we have concerns about the future governance of Counterparty, our community protocol, since the sole custodian and controller of our protocol, who has ignored or suppressed many people here, has just gone on stage at a global conference, launching a competing protocol funded by corporate investors who may or may not have good or bad intentions regarding counterparty's future.
It's the uncertainty and the lack of control we collectively have over our futures, when some of us have dedicated years of our lives and in some cases tied up very large sums, six or seven figures, and yes even our very livelihoods are impacted...
and now we're powerless passengers on an undemocratic ship without a declared destination, while our enigmatic captain has helicoptered off to steer another ship he's announced himself in charge of?
Not to mention a complete disregard for our community culture and communications channels.
How can we not react this way? -

I'm working to create a new PEPECASH price oracle.
Here's my plan. Can anyone suggest improvements to the plan?
——--
PEPECASH Price Oracle Implementation Plan (Revised)
Overview
Build a hybrid PEPECASH/USD price oracle using three data sources with clear priority:
1. CSV historical data (Sept 2016 - Sept 2024) - trusted baseline
2. DEX-computed rates (on-chain PEPECASH/XCP trades) - blockchain truth
3. Dispenser-computed rates (on-chain BTC purchases) - secondary source
All three sources combined with intelligent merging and gap-filling.
Data Source Priority Logic
For dates Sept 24, 2016 → Sept 19, 2024:
Primary: CSV data from PEPECASH_price_history.csv (2,489 daily prices)
- Confidence: HIGH (established market data)
- Use: As baseline for all dates in this range
Secondary: DEX-computed rates (where available)
- Use: Validate CSV data, fill CSV gaps
- Validation: Flag divergence >50% from CSV
- Override: Use DEX if CSV shows obvious anomaly (e.g., 807x spike)
Tertiary: Dispenser-computed rates (where available)
- Use: Fill remaining gaps only
- Apply: 15% discount for dispenser premium
- Confidence: MEDIUM
For dates Sept 20, 2024 → Present:
Primary: DEX-computed rates from CollectionCurrencyExchangeRate
- Confidence: HIGH (blockchain truth)
- Requirement: Minimum 100 PEPECASH volume
Secondary: Dispenser-computed rates
- Use: When no DEX activity
- Apply: 15% discount
- Max age: 30 days
Tertiary: Forward-fill from last known price
- Use: When no sales activity
- Apply: Time-decay factor: max(0.5, 1 - days_old/90)
- Confidence: LOW - 18 November 2025 (7 messages)

I WILL MAKE IT UNDERSTAND!! -
yeah, claude code and I got there!
"AH! Now I finally understand the complete picture!
In this specific case:
- All 8 dispensers were deliberately priced at the same 690,000 sats satoshirate
- The buyer paid 0.0069 BTC to trigger ALL of them simultaneously
- PEPEGUN at 690 BTC/unit IS the correct primary price
- The other 7 assets were "free bonuses" (priced at 0.0069 BTC but actually worth much less based on market prices)
For proper valuation, we need to:
1. PEPEGUN: 0.00001 units @ 690 BTC/unit = 0.0069 BTC (this is correct)
2. The other 7 assets: Find their market value from nearby DEX/dispenser sales, NOT from this bundle transaction
This is actually a clever seller strategy - price everything at the same high rate so buyers can't cherry-pick cheaper items!
So the correct approach for multi-dispenser transactions is:
1. Detect multi-dispenser bundles (multiple dispenses in same tx)
2. Identify the "primary" asset (highest value based on market prices)
3. Attribute the full BTC payment to the primary asset
4. Mark the other assets as "bonus/bundle" with market-derived prices (from other sales), NOT from this transaction
This means:
- PEPEGUN sale: 0.00001 @ 0.0069 BTC (690 BTC/unit) ✓ Correct
- BITCOINLAND: 1 card @ market price (find from other sales)
- GUARDSPEPE: 1 card @ market price (find from other sales)
- etc.
And in our database, we should mark them as isMultiDispenser = true and multiDispenserGroup = txHash so we know they came from a bundle, but don't use THIS transaction to derive their prices - use market data instead. -
Haha. Beat that bot into submission. -

Illiquid Digital Asset Valuation Framework - A Quantitative Approach to NFT Portfolio Valuation & Tax Reporting
Author: Bradley "Angels in the AI" Hughes / @SamadhiSpeaks
Version: 1.0 - Foundation Framework
Purpose: Establish defensible, auditable valuation methodologies for illiquid Counterparty assets
Executive Summary
The emergence of blockchain-based digital assets has created significant challenges for traditional valuation methodologies, particularly when these assets exhibit extreme illiquidity and operate within nascent, thinly-traded markets.
This framework addresses a critical gap in professional practice: the development of defensible, auditable valuation approaches for illiquid non-fungible tokens (NFTs), specifically those issued on the Counterparty protocol, suitable for Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements.
The Counterparty protocol, established in 2014 as one of the earliest NFT ecosystems built on the Bitcoin blockchain, represents a unique valuation challenge. Unlike more recent NFT platforms that benefit from relatively active trading venues and standardized marketplaces, Counterparty assets often experience extended periods without transactions, limited price discovery mechanisms, and concentrated ownership among specialized collectors.
These characteristics place such assets firmly outside the scope of traditional market-based valuation approaches while simultaneously requiring rigorous, professionally defensible methodologies for tax compliance purposes.[^1]
This framework synthesizes established fair value measurement principles codified in Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) 13 and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 13 with blockchain-specific considerations, creating a hybrid methodology appropriate for Level 3 fair value measurements.[^2]
The approach recognizes that while these digital assets lack the active markets necessary for straightforward valuation, they nonetheless represent property with ascertainable value for tax purposes under Australian Taxation Office (ATO) guidance. -

Only the ones acquired for a cost base over $500 AUD per item. In accordance with ATO guidance on collectibles.
Hence the need for a full price oracle for every asset and every asset pair swap, with a FMV fair market valuation framework rationale that marks assets to market across a range of considerations that are consistent with globally recognised standards and Australian legislation based definitions.
The paper does consider other jurisdictions to an extent also. -

Spells of Genesis Detailed Analysis
Summary:
Total: 289 SoG assets
Locked: 207 (71.6%) ✅
Unlocked: 82 (28.4%)
Key Findings:
1. None of the unlocked assets have lock events - they are correctly detected as unlocked
2. Timing pattern:
- Only 4 unlocked before 2017 (early cards)
- 78 unlocked from 2017+ (mostly Sept-Oct 2017 batch)
3. Multiple issuances common: Many unlocked assets had 2-4 issuances (additional minting), suggesting the game needed flexibility to adjust supply
Example unlocked cards:
- CARDADDICT (2015): Single issuance, never locked
- CYCLOPSCARD (2016): 3 additional issuances, never locked
- WEANARAASSAS (2017): Additional minting in 2017, never locked
Conclusion: Unlike Rare Pepes (100% locked) and Dank Rares (99.8% locked) which require locking for collection membership, Spells of Genesis has different curation rules.
SoG is a trading card game, so some cards have been intentionally left unlocked to allow supply adjustments for game balance purposes. -
To explain the logic behind the Spells of Genesis unlocked cards, these cards are known as 'in-game cards'. Every player who starts playing the game can 'mint' or 'blockchainize' one in-game card per month for free (that however does not cover the withdrawal fee). Here's how it works: when you collect four exactly the same Wood Grade cards, you can merge two Wood Grade cards into an Iron Grade card. Repeat this process once more to get two iron-grade cards. Merging the iron grade cards gives you a golden grade card. You can then 'blockchainize' this golden-grade card, and after that withdraw the card which means you will receive it in your wallet after paying a withdrawal fee of 200 BITCRYSTALS. This is why those unlocked cards will stay unlocked. They are for all the people to "make" the cards themselves in the game and become the owner of the asset. I play the game every day, even after all these years. In my opinion, it's the only game worth playing. -
Thank you for this valuable information. I never knew all this detail, it's a great explanation.
Do the mechanics still work this way up until now?
May I add the explanatory portion to the collection info page on the site I am building? -
Can confirm. Still functions in this way.
Sincerely,
An almost daily player -

very cool... I did something like this with mafiawars.io a few years ago.... showing collections and total % of each collection address holds.... great work on this... looking forward to when you release it 🙂 -

Who knows... Adam seemed to indicate he would write "new" rules and there would only be one... also he removed ability to create a token in the horizon wallet.... and is instead driving ppl to the marketplace... and has no interest in being a user of counterparty and trying to create a token and understand things from a user perspective. -
pipeline from creation to sales. what are his motivators? dur
people were not using features on horizon, because people were using Freewallet to get things done. Horizon tech support consists of blaming the user and not investigating the issue, that could mean eating pudding -
Yeah he started stuttering on that asset creation question -
He also said the Freewallet maintainer was no longer maintaining it and counterwallet was used by everyone. Counterwallet was dead before I got here -
Another loaded question I didnt ask was which idea was first? Kontor or the return to Counterparty as maintainer -
I asked it earlier -
I missed most of it at work -
I buttered him up and got us all unbanned. My mind control skills are off the charts -
-
Lolz I wish they can also unban those they have banned -
😁 -
I was literally in the middle of giving a calf an antibiotic injection 😆 Twitter is awesome -
Counterwallet works perfectly fine using the fix I suggested when adam first came back to CP... Javier and I proposed 3 solutions to get counterwallet working again.... Adam ignored them all and closed the issue... anyway... proof counterwallet works fine 😛 -

Ive never tried it. I always just read it was broken -
Adam uses a lot of fallacy in his arguments defending his actions. You have to trick him into answering with wording that cant be wiggled out of -
I tried to listen but when I tuned in I just heard VVD bullshit so I bailed and got on with my afternoon -
Also claiming horizon moved asset creation because it wasn't being used in the wallet doesn't square with his opinion that counterparty is over all slowed -
I'd say listen to the beginning when Gmoney is asking questions -
Nice will tune into the recording tomorrow -
Big ups GMoney -

His deflections make it tricky to get a good answer. I'd need an outline in front of me -
I wonder what HANSE is -
Like when I asked him to post links in the chats, so everyone could join I meant to make the point that he isn't in any of them - 26 November 2025 (30 messages)

a glimpse into my claude code conversations...
me: "we cannot say "Realizable value"... that's total bullshit when there is close to zero demand side / bid side for almost all the assets. Think of a more accurate term."
claude: "You're absolutely right - that's misleading. Better options:
- Total Ask Value - honest about what it is (seller asking prices)
- Listed Value - emphasizes these are listings, not executed sales
- Supply-side Value - technical but accurate
- Asking Price Total - very clear
I'd suggest "Total Ask Value" or "Listed Value" - both are honest that this represents what sellers want, not what buyers are paying.
Which do you prefer, or do you have another term in mind?"
Me: > "Asking Price Total is preferable, as "Value" also implies there is actual value there, when it is simply a sum of the total aspirations of all market participants."
claude: "Excellent point - "value" implies worth that may not exist." -
"there is close to zero demand side / bid side for almost all the assets." ->
This seems like a serious problem....... -
fix? invite more people to buy dank memes -
finally had to upgrade to 11.0.3 after my 11.0.2. stopped parsing blocks... had been putting it off as I've been so flat out on other things -
What would appeal to you to spend some of your hoarded xcp on art? Have you considered sponsoring artists? -
-
Also I make assets on horizon all the time on mobile ? So not sure what he means ? It’s still there ? Maybe I haven’t. Updated ? Hmm works fine ish -
Also for enjoyers

Can you get in just by searching for the group name? -
This one?

I've picked up some new stuff —- I've got all of the Generation 1 Pokemon cards from The Counterpart:
https://www.thecounterp.art/generation_1
As well as the complete dragon:
https://www.thecounterp.art/legacy
I like the idea of adding new art to CP tokens issued in the early days of Counterparty (this series of tokens was issued in 2015).

It would be nice to have some sort of index of say, the top 100 rarepepes that can be used to chart price and volume of trading on aggregate. That would help made collecting/investing/trading decisions.LinkThe CounterpART - Directory of Classic Digital Art on Counterparty / Bitcoin

Emote your feelings about this name -
Perhaps a bit aggressive? -
WTH Auction House operated from Jan 31, 2017 to Oct 8, 2024.
What occasions were a bit aggressive? Asking for an Auctioneer :) -
The reason I am asking... I'm interested in people's thoughts and feelings about what WTH Auction House was, what was provided, what it represented in the community. -
-
"what would convince somebody like you to participate in the art market"
I think that, particularly when it comes to the rarer, more valuable NFTs, a buyer would feel more comfortable collecting in an environment where one is reasonably confident that it would be possible to sell the asset if the cash ever becomes necessary.
More activity/liquidity would help for sure (as well as tools for objectively/easily assessing liquidity). -
Apologies — I thought you were asking about the name itself, not the auction house or the auction activities.
Re the auction house —- I never participated, but I have the impression that a lot of cool assets were actively traded there!!!
Re the name WTH: The first thing that comes to mind is "What The Hell" —- that was what I meant by aggressive. Apologies for the misunderstanding. -
I don't have any data to back this up, but I would guess it facilitated the trading of a lot of higher value items, and provided the sort of liquidity that we really could use right now. -
It brought exposure and real value to assets I loved this and hope you bring it back ser! -
TOP KEK! -
Yes, a few historical firsts. The first auction reaching 1,000,000 PEPECASH hammer price in 2017. First auction achieving > $30K ($35.5K approx) for a single Rare Pepe (9 January, 2018), for PEPEPIZZA (320K PEPECASH), setting the floor expectations for the $38.5K (approx.) (350K PEPECASH) HOMERPEPE auction at the Rare Digital Art Festival 5 days later. -
all historical data will progressively make its way onto the future countertools.io site -

I've also been lucky enough to collect some of the digital and physical versions of art from Cody's LFG collection.
Cody was kind enough to put a beautiful frame on the one-and-only physical original of TOOFUNNYPEPE and it puts a smile on my face to see it each day.

What The Heck Auction house was more than just an auction. I learned a lot of things in there about the history of counterparty, especially Rarepepe History. People gave mostly positive and informative takes on current events. The auctions saw some great artists, wares and legendary collectors. It was always exciting to watch and participate. -
Open it up again !! I’ve got 3 wallets to auction off ?? Could be fun ?
