very curious about Kontor, hoping we get to talk about it. Is it meant to replace counterparty? or is it meant to go hand in hand? will it bridge counterparty to other non bitcoin blockchains acting as a bridge? or is it to eventually make counterparty obsolete other than for legacy collectibles?

I’ve found Claude very helpful reduced a month or two of Work down to two weeks easily…. It helps knowing the tech side of what you want and having worked in the same Sphere for things like security and how you want it to handle things.. mines only slipped up and misunderstood a few time but within an hour or two it can be put back on track…. I’ve even had it jump on a server to diagnose issues I wouldn’t have known what to look for without hours of digging and it’s helped me resolve things fairly fast I was a little ashamed of
Using it to begin with but now I couldn’t sing it’s praises loud enough I don’t think. -

- Shows: Assets they issued/created conceptually
3. Owner (/owners/[slug]) - Holds ownership rights (original or acquired)
- Example: RarePepeNews for most of his assets, PLUS PEPETEX/CHOCOPEPE he acquired
4. Collector (/collectors/[slug]) - Portfolio of all token holdings
- Example: Complete collection across all addresses
RarePepeNews Example Breakdown:
- As Creator: Shows all RarePepeNews assets he issued (concept/brief credit)
- As Artist: Shows only PEPEFREEZE + ZOOKOPEPE (artwork credit)
- As Owner: Shows his issued assets + PEPETEX + CHOCOPEPE (ownership rights)
- As Collector: Shows complete portfolio of all holdings -

Does anyone have historical price data Sources for Collection Currencies (COCOCASH, DANKMEMECASH, BITCORN, etc.)
I have an historical PEPECASH price file from Dan last year, but don't know if anyone has other Collections/projects currency pairs pricing in Sats/date or USD/date? -
For now, I'm approaching it algorithmically as follows:
Collection Currency Price Reconstruction Strategy
Data Sources for Collection Currencies (COCOCASH, DANKMEMECASH, BITCORN, etc.)
1. DEX Order Fills (Asset → XCP → USD)
- When COCOCASH is sold for XCP, we know:
- COCOCASH amount and XCP amount from the order match
- XCP/USD rate from ExchangeRate table at that timestamp
- Therefore: COCOCASH/USD = (XCP received / COCOCASH sold) * XCP/USD
2. Dispenser Fills (Asset → BTC → USD)
- When COCOCASH dispenser is purchased:
- COCOCASH amount and satoshirate (BTC cost) from dispense event
- BTC/USD rate from ExchangeRate table at that timestamp
- Therefore: COCOCASH/USD = (BTC paid / COCOCASH received) * BTC/USD
3. Asset-to-Asset Trades (indirect pricing)
- When RAREPEPE is bought with COCOCASH:
- If we know RAREPEPE/USD from its own sales
- We can derive COCOCASH/USD from the exchange ratio
Implementation Approach
I should create a price reconstruction service that:
1. Builds a time-series price history for each collection currency from their sales records
2. Stores these derived prices in ExchangeRate table or a new CollectionCurrencyPrice table
3. Uses temporal interpolation for gaps in the price history -
A RAREPEPE sale in COCOCASH would be quite an event :)

no script to do so using just the CP API.... however, there is cp2mysql which ports all data from counterparty-core into a mysql database where you can easily do stuff like SELECT count(*) from assets, etc.... easy to do if you have a database to query... otherwise if your already running a cp node... you should be able to query this data directly in the sqlite database.... I prefer to run sql queries vs using CP apis

- This shows PEPECASH's utility as the Rare Pepe ecosystem currency
This is brilliant - PEPECASH has a unique dual role:
1. It's an asset that gets traded (like any other token)

Yes that is the big technical flaw of any transaction-messages-based metaprotocol. Any time the rules of the messages change (what is written or the interpretation of it) a new ledger is created.
There is absolutely nothing stopping anyone of you just following along a previous ledger. And is even easier now that the messages changed to CBOR, they forked themselves out again.
Is just an unspoken truth that is better not to be understood by the masses…
But some absolutely know this, they just decide to ignore it. -

I'm not a tech guy, at least not yet but I observed one big flaw recently. A wallet was swept on CP2.0 but funny enough, on CP classic, this address was intact, no swept, no movements.
Can this be because of what you mentioned here? -
cp2.0 and cp classic ledger are separated and have been for over a year.... once the fork happened and I added replay protection, transactions only happen on one network or the other

so yeah... you can sweep things on cp 2.0 and still have the cp classic version of those assets... if you want to do something on cp classic, gotta download freewallet-classic n perform the action on the cp classic ledger

gotta love CP being dependent on a 3rd party application (electrs) and throwing random error messages which are of no help..... Addrindexrs was included in the stack and while it had a big disk footprint (disk space is cheap), it worked well..... til Adam came along and ripped it out for "reasons" and replaced it with electrs... where we now get nonsense like this

The secret to success is to dare to try -
due to an issue with state being inconsistent between nodes, the CP node for tokenscan.io was handing out bad info resulting in some funky balances and supply issues for a couple assets.... so the rollback and reparse I did 3 days ago was still pulling that bad data from counterparty-core... i've since removed the counterparty-core database and state database in counterparty-core and downloaded the bootstrap... things should be good now in the CP database.... so I am doing a full parse of all data into a mysql database and will update tokenscan with this data once the full parse is done.....
