saw your post in the counterparty chat - you can add addresses that you made prior back into the wallet
- a 12 word PK can derive 1000's of addresses and they will always still be there despite the UI resetting when you log out
- only imported addresses (addresses from another 12 word pk, will be lost) ... most commonly in the xcp community those are imported addresses from Emblem vaults -
be careful of DM's from anywhere - none of us DM, we only post help publicly here

its could be a UI issue, best to verify btc balance and btc address actions on btc block explorers

remember you can always use another bitcoin wallet with your address specific pk's (like Electrum for example) to do btc specific actions

it means the app is showing you a different balance for BTC amount for a short time, but a bitcoin block explorer will tell you the truth as it is exactly at the moment you are looking

I've given you an adequate amount of advice and documentation to review. Again... You can always view your BTC balance on a BTC block explorer and always use a different wallet of your choosing for BTC centric functions
If you feel there is something wrong with the new version please post it in the Freewallet Desktop issues so the dev can see

This one took some sleuthing..... thanks for the info and date and screenshot.... so, the screenshot does indeed suck.... rare pepe chat goes back to 2016 but the Counterparty_XCP channel only goes back to 2017.... so that means that this message was dropped in the ORIGINAL counterparty channel in 2016 BEFORE Trevor Altpeter (former CP foundation member) got upset that he wasn't re-elected and decided to hold the room hostage and demand a ransom for it.... I of course said "fuck that" and just created a new Counterparty room which was "Counterparty_XCP"..... So, the message your looking for was in the original CP channel -

Really confused on what you are asking or need here.
If you imported an address with a pk derived from another wallet... Freewallet is not aware nor never derived a 12 word passphrase for you.
From my knowledge I'm not sure if deriving a 12 word phrase from a private key is even possible, especially not with Freewallet.
The entire point of an address specific pk is so the entire wallet doesn't get compromised.
Feel free to check out the user manual for viewing/importing pk's and how deriving new addresses from a passphrase even works in freewallet -
Now in the circumstance you created a series of addresses in freewallet and logged out and can't see them anymore. Simply add new addresses again and they will be added in the same order as before (and will be the same addresses)

But if you didn't write down your 12 passphrase for the external wallet... The one you specially picked one address from that to import into Freewallet. I really don't think there is any possible technical way to get that back.
Whenever you make a wallet you are going to use seriously you should always back up your 12 word phrase -
Sounds like he only has a private key for a single address.... but doesn't have the passphrase which was used to generate all the addresses... he now wants to get access to an address which is only accessible if he has the passphrase... TLDR.. Think he saved the private key for his main address, not the passphrase, generated many addresses, and thinks that he can get access to all the other addresses via the private key.

This is unfortunate... but if he doesn't have the 12-word wallet passphrase, he has lost access to the funds... this is why the wallet specifically warns you to write down the 12-word passphrase and makes you confirm that you have done so before you are allowed to use the wallet

@jdogresorg does Freewallet look for "thumb" or "image" when displaying thumbnails in wallet?
And are redirects acceptable (for example gateway.ar.io) for image links? -
The thumbnail image shown in FreeWallet is directly driven by the tokenscan.io icon…. I’m not sure about redirects…. The wallet uses the same exact description code as token scan…. So if it works on token scan, it should work in the wallet.

That's the issue I'm observing. I've got jsons that say "thumb" and others that say "image". Both display on tokenscan, but sometimes only 1 displays inside freewallet. -
I usually pay it no mind, but I'm helping Robness with his project and we've got 150 jsons. He's saying the thumbs aren't showing in freewallet but they do display on tokenscan.
Dave has said in the past it takes a while for thumbs to show up in freewallet. So I don't know if it's the name or caching, or something else. -

pepe.wtf is asking you to use freewallet.io to proove that you own the address you enter.... which means that you would have to have freewallet setup and have access to that address via freewallet... if that is the case, you should be able to do it... if you dont have freewallet setup, then you can't do it without setting up your freewallet with access to the address

pepe.wtf is trying to connect your preferred wallet to their site.... you paste an address, it tells you to pick the wallet you use which has access to the address you pasted... sounds like you don't already have freewallet installed, so not sure why your choosing freewllet for authentication

USD and XCP prices have been stale for months. But it is a bitcoin wallet. USD is not a supported currency :). -

I generally check how much btc of something I'm doing / pricing. So I don't over/under shoot a target. That's not a new thing tho. -

Yeah your not wrong…. I’ve noticed that usd price is off a bit sometimes as well when using the doge wallet…. If you want to create a GitHub issue for I’ll dig into it the next time I’m updating FreeWallet.

hmm all my addresses are showing the wrong amount of btc but the right amount of dollars.
I send $100 and the receiving address shows only $76 dollars was received.
It shows on the meme pool as sent .017386 and theres zero balance left in the original address.
eventhough the address had .0015 btc/$100 it doesnt have any btc left. and the other address got .017386/ $76
I know the adddress had $100 cause it was a dispenser wallet that dispensed two assets at $50 each.
I've never seen this with freewallet in six years -
nothing has changed in freewallet in many months.... check the actual balances on a block explorer not the USD relative

AFAIK, green banner collections provide a json link to Jdog. This json file only has image names and image links.Tokenscan reads that file periodically and caches the images. Any changes to the image after this initial caching process will not be reflected on Tokenscan or inside Freewallet.
The only way to get a new image to appear is to ask Jdog to flush the cache which then rebuilds it from the (updated) json.
Reason being - token images aren't expected to change once accepted into a directory. But accidents happen and it can be corrected in the above manner. -
After giving it some more thought, you are correct. Everything in the token’s json (image, description, social links, etc.) becomes “locked in” once it becomes green bannered.
The token creator can still perform Change Description functions, they just won’t be displayed on tokenscan.
Any platform outside of TS would display those changes as expected. Only Tokenscan and Freewallet are affected by green banner status -
