Thanks.. will get to it when I have time.... I think the easier route is to simply stop showing the non-functioning oracles in the oracle dropdown.... that data is driven directly from https://xcp.finance/api/btc json file... so I can edit that file and then the oracles will disappear from the dropdown... and then the only option to use an oracle would be to paste an oracle address in..... that way if someone WANTS to operate an oracle and someone else WANTS to use that oracle, they can do so manually..... versus selecting a non-functioning oracle from the dropdown -
I might actually spin the oracles back up and just update the price periodically (once each week instead of daily).... will think on it a bit and decide in the next week or so

Thank you! My worry right now is that it is deceptive. When you open the dispenser it shows a price of $11.00 but if you do the math on the BTC price, it's $19.50

perhaps you paid with a low tx fee which is not allowing the tx to be relayed to other nodes... not sure.

But the initial description change went through on freewallet/ counterparty it gave me the TX but I lost it

could be cp generated the tx and freewallet signed it but it had a low tx fee.... which meant the tx would not be relayed to all other nodes... would explain why your utxo is missing from electrs

yeah... a passphrase is 12 or 24 words that can generate an infinite number of addresses to use.... a private key is linked to one specific address.... so this is just a case of you being confused and putting in a 24 word passphrase instead of a private key.

yeah... not ideal to put any keys from a hardware wallet into a software wallet... kidna defeats the purpose of the passphrase and private keys only living on the device

Another question for you @jdogresorg - what would cause a token with a quantity of "0" to show up during a sweep transaction.
For example, a card was added to a wallet in early 2024. In late 2024 the card was sold and sent out of the wallet. Today, I did a sweep of that wallet and the card is listed in the sweep with a quantity of "0".
Like the wallet remembered that it used to be there but it's not anymore but it tried to sweep it anyway. -

sloppy coding that has existed inside counterparty since the genesis.... where records are created for 0 quantity..... it is related to how holders and balances were calculated... previously get_balances would return assets with 0 quantity balance... same thing with get_holders, it would not filter out records with 0 balances..... the end result is that when doing things that require pulling a list of balances or holders, the system will wind up creating unnecessary 0 quantity records, and also it uses these 0 balance records in the fee calculations as well.... this ends up bloating the credits table unnecessarily and charging users more fees than they should be charged.... John and I discovered this issue with dividends in 2018 and worked to get a fix in place...

GM @jdogresorg would green banner project names show up in the counterparty api or only tokenscan?
I am trying to obtain a list with the following information:
Token Name
Green banner project name (if present)
Enhanced Asset artist name
Artist social media link
large image link
This would be used to feed into the Token Art Application which I voluntarily submit jsons to. I currently do it manually which takes mucho time.
If this is a simple task for you to do, I could pay you in Wojaks or Commons. Reason being, I don't have any Rare Pepes that you need :) -
the green banner thing is just a tokenscan implementation... all I store is the asset name, the image, and the project name and the project website... I can dump those 4 pieces of info for you, but the artist specific info like website and artist name are not something I can easily get at cuz its not stored anywhere in a centralized format

with XChain I will be coming up with a standardized way for artists to enter token info, to submit artwork to projects, and for projects to create/update a list of what tokens are included in their project... so on XChain that info will be handled in a decentralized manner, and will have APIs to pull that information

the XChain "Token information Standard (TIS)" is basically just an extension of CIP25 which standardizes the fields a user can put in a JSON file for additional information.... projects will be able to just create a list of "approved" tokens and add them to a list and continue updating and adding/removing items form that list and the explorer will automatically know if the card is in projects and indicate the projects

The way to create a project, update a project list, and whatnot has not been created yet... tho its basically just a standard broadcast format I need to come up with.... xchain also has LINK (ability to link any 2 transactions together) and FILE (ability to upload any file).... so once we have the linke from project->token->token info... should be pretty easy for anyone to run a script and slurp up all the artists info from project tokens

unfortunately that is an error that is coming directly from Counterparty API... which now relies on an external electrs instance to manage building txs to sign.... gotta ask your question direct of the counterparty core devs.... nothing I can do unfortunately 🙁

I tried creating assets now without description and it got created but without the description. I will try adding the descriptions later to see how it goes.
I tried adding the descriptions with the arweave link instead of easyasset link and it is not allowing that. Though I've been doing that in the past. Lemme try add easyasset main link too.

yeah that definitely sounds like its not operating as it should... I see no lag when switching between addresses.... perhaps your switching a bunch and have a lot of assets and are making requests faster to the API than allowable (2 per second) and so your getting rate limited when your trying to switch addresses and pull a list of balances... can't say for sure but definitely it should not be taking a long time to load balances, it should be almost instantaneous

yeah the latest 11.0.3 update fixed the ledger hash mismatch issue I was speking of the other day... and required a rollback of 11,000 blocks.... so took a while for the counterparty-core instance to rollback and reparse those blocks... should be good now tho - 28 October 2025 (6 messages)
