A piece by LycosFreak for the Fake Rare project, marking the fork in the road where Counterparty 2.0 and Counterparty Classic went down separate paths.
Counterparty 2.0 and its supporters believe a more centralized Counterparty focused on profit is the way forward, with the 2.0 developers deciding what is best for the community and adding or removing features without community consensus. Counterparty Classic and its supporters believe a more decentralized Counterparty is the way forward, where the community proposes, discusses and reaches consensus on features through the Counterparty Improvement Proposal (CIP) process used for the previous ten years.
