This card reflects a particularly dark time in Counterparty. A Counterparty Foundation member, Dante, passed some documents from a foundation meeting to Dan Anderson, who put on his conspiracy theory hat and accused me and other members of the foundation of trying to quietly and secretly move Counterparty off of Bitcoin to some other blockchain.
That was total bullshit. As I remember it, Devon brought it up as a proposal for the foundation to discuss, and we all more or less agreed it was not a good idea. I personally would never be for moving Counterparty off of Bitcoin. That is the whole value proposition.
Dan Anderson and Dante went on to produce something like four hour-plus tinfoil-hat videos about all the nefarious stuff supposedly going on behind everybody's back: "Counterparty Forks, Counterparty Foundation, and Consensus Failures", January 2018. The card itself comes from a moment in one of those videos where Dante points at his eyes and says "I'm watching you." Archived here for the record:
In their videos they kept talking about how Counterparty was quietly run by a secret organization called the Counterparty Cabal. So when I made the card I put "sponsored by Counterparty Cabal" along the bottom, and then blacked it out.
